Food Safety

We all know the importance of food safety, especially when it comes to distributing food to clients that may be more susceptible to food borne illnesses. Each Member Agency is responsible for ensuring that its program staff and volunteers are trained properly in hygiene, safe handling of food, and dealing with the public in a professional manner.

The Food Bank for Larimer County has food safety information available for your review
(available in the Resource Center in Food Link, or contact the Agency Relations Coordinator)

Repackaging Food

The Food Bank does not recommend that agencies repack food items for their clients. If you do decide to repackage food items please see page 16 of the Member Agency Contract for requirements and visit www.larimer.org/health/ehs/food.asp for a copy of the Retail Food Regulations.
