Take Action to Help Solve Hunger!
September is Hunger Action Month! Join us as we band together with Feeding America’s nationwide network of food banks to take action to end hunger in our nation. Hunger Action Month is your opportunity to get involved and make a lasting impact. Whether it’s by advocating and raising awareness, donating or volunteering, you can find a way that’s right for you to make a difference during Hunger Action Month.
How can you help?
The Food Bank leverages cash donations to acquire food staples in bulk and support our hunger relief programs. For every dollar donated, the Food Bank can provide enough food for 4 meals.Call or email Heather Buoniconti, Development Director, (email@example.com; 970.530.3101) to learn more about our donor programs or visit our website to donate online.
Advocacy is critical to fighting hunger. As a hunger-relief advocate you can weigh in on important public policy issues in Washington DC, Denver and Larimer County. Our advocates communicate with their legislators about hunger issues. They talk to their friends and other social contacts about the need for a solution to hunger. Email Lauren Ross Dewey, firstname.lastname@example.org, to become a hunger-relief advocate.
Volunteers are the heart of the Food Bank. Last fiscal year, over 1,800 volunteers generously contributed more than 30,000 hours of time – the equivalent of 14 full-time staff. We offer a variety of volunteer opportunities from staffing special events to regular, weekly shifts sorting food or preparing meals for our child nutrition programs. Contact Ben Donnelly, Volunteer Manager, email@example.com, to learn more.
