Due to federal action, SNAP recipients will receive their last maximum emergency allotments in February.

WHAT TO EXPECT

Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program benefits will return to pre-pandemic amounts in March. This will reduce the amount of monthly benefits that SNAP recipients will receive. The amount will depend on income and the household size.

Congress in 2020 initiated temporary emergency allotments to SNAP households because of the COVID-19 pandemic. Late in 2022, new federal action led to the end of supplemental emergency allotments.

CHECK YOUR DEDUCTIONS

Reporting any changes in your household situation (household size, income, expenses) may see a positive impact in the benefits your household is eligible for. You can contact the Food Bank’s SNAP & Benefits Outreach Team to report any changes in your situation or to learn more about what changes should be reported. Check out our SNAP page to learn more about how to contact them.
