Note from the CEO
April, 2025
April is volunteer appreciation month.
While we are grateful for our volunteers every day of the year, this month’s special designation gives us an opportunity to truly sing praises; our volunteers’ unwavering dedication and hard work are the heart of our organization, and it’s thanks to each of them that we’re able to fulfill our mission of providing food to all in need through community partnerships and hunger-relief programs.
I am humbled and deeply grateful for the incredible work of more than 11,000 volunteers who collectively give almost 70,000 hours of their time each year, and their commitment is nothing short of inspiring.
Every day, these volunteers show up—in rain or shine, through the busiest seasons, and during the most challenging moments—and bring energy, compassion, and commitment that go beyond what words can capture. Whether they’re sorting food donations, packing boxes, or delivering meals to families, their efforts create a ripple effect of hope. Our team of volunteers don’t just help stock shelves or distribute food; they are giving our clients the comfort of knowing they are not alone in their struggles facing hunger.
The impact of our volunteers is truly immeasurable.
We are a Food Bank with approximately 50 paid employees; there is simply no way we could do the work we do without a strong, reliable team of capable volunteers. Behind every meal we provide, there’s a volunteer ensuring that food reaches those who need it most. Selfless contributions help us form the foundation of our hunger-relief programs, and without these gifts of service, our entire community would suffer.
The strength of our organization lies in its partnerships—and volunteers are the foundation of this collaborative effort. Our volunteers help create an environment where kindness and generosity are contagious, and where every person can feel supported, no matter their situation.
As the organization continues its fight to end hunger, it is fortunate to have these volunteers as partners in this mission. Their contributions help stretch resources further, allowing the food bank to serve more people than it could alone. Every hour volunteered strengthens the community and ensures that hunger-relief programs remain effective and impactful.

A word directly to our volunteers:
Thank you for giving your time, your skills, and your heart to this mission. You are the true embodiment of community spirit, and because of you, we are able to meet the growing needs of our neighbors and continue to make strides toward ending hunger in our community.
Each item of food you organize, every moment you spend volunteering, and every smile you share makes a lasting difference in our community. The work you do enables us to stretch our resources further and support more families in need, no matter the circumstances.
On behalf of everyone here at Food Bank for Larimer County, I want to say—from the bottom of our hearts—thank you. We could not do this without you, and we are forever grateful for the difference you make.
