With 1 in 8 Larimer County residents facing food insecurity, you can make a difference this Hunger Action Month in ensuring that families, seniors and children receive nutritious food.
This month, we invite you to play your part in this fight by volunteering, donating funds or starting your own food, fund or essentials drive.
- The biggest way you can make a difference is to donate. For every $1 donated, the Food Bank can purchase the equivalent of enough food for two meals. Our purchasing power helps your dollar go further to buy more food. Rather than paying retail prices, food banks work directly with major manufacturers, farmers and retailers. Your donation also gives us the ability to buy the nutritious foods we know we are running low on and that is most in needed for those that use our resources. You can donate here: https://giving.gofundme.com/campaign/797775/donate.
- Volunteer with us. The Food Bank always has open volunteer shifts. Whether you want to work in our Nutritious Kitchen preparing meals for seniors and kids, distribute food to your neighbors through our No Cost Markets or work behind the scenes to sort donations, there are always opportunities. - Start your own food, fund or essentials drive. Rally your friends, neighbors or coworkers to donate the most needed items to the Food Bank. Did you know we also distribute essential hygiene items, like diapers, period products? For these kinds of products, we rely 100% on donations, so essentials drives are a great way to keep our shelves stocked. We are so grateful to our community for working alongside us to fight hunger! Thank you for taking the time to learn more about how you can get involved this Hunger Action Month and beyond.
