Minimum Qualifications
- 501(c)3 organization or qualifying church.
- Operates to serve “the ill, needy, or infants (minor children)” as per the IRS.
- Located in Larimer County.
- Must have adequate food storage space.
Food Safety Requirement
Organizations will be required to have one employee with qualifying food safety training before becoming a partner. Agencies have 60 days to train a replacement if that employee leaves

What are the Food Safety Course Requirments?
Agencies that distribute only shelf stable product are required to have basic food safety training.

Agencies that distribute cold products are required to have advanced food safety training and can complete that in two ways:

Food Bank for Larimer County’s free In-Person Class
Classes are offered 6 times each year and require completion of an assessment to receive a certificate. Contact agencyinfo@foodbanklarimer.org for updates on those classes

Agencies who prepare food on site are required to go through advanced food safety training and can achieve this through the FBLC in-person class or a ServSafe Manager’s Certificate (or the equivalent).
Where does the food I have access to come from?
Food is received from several sources such as donations, local retail partners, other food banks, the USDA, as well as national donors. All food goes through USDA-level regulation checks.
How long until I hear about my application status?
You will be contacted within one month of your application to discuss your partnership after the FBLC Agency Team has reviewed your application.
Why might my application be denied?
Applications may be denied due reasons such as an incomplete application, saturation of food assistance programs in the applicant’s area, insufficient food storage space, insufficient staffing, or the applicant’s focus being inconsistent with FBLC’s mission.
Does the Food Bank offer other services besides food assistance to partners?
Yes. We help with SNAP assistance as well as offer nutrition education classes.
Which organizations are already providing food assistance in Larimer County?

Does the food bank distribute turkeys or holiday food baskets to partners?
Turkeys are distributed to established partners and schools located in the Poudre and Thompson School Districts. Prospective organizations are not eligible to receive turkeys or holiday basket food, nor do we establish partnerships solely around receiving holiday food.
