LOVELAND, COLO. – December 2023 — The Food Bank for Larimer County was the recipient of a $10,000 KeyBank Foundation grant to support hunger relief. The funds awarded will help to provide the equivalent of 20,000 meals.
This support comes at a crucial time. The Food Bank this year saw demand for its services increase. At the Fresh Food Share pantries in Loveland and Fort Collins, the number of people visiting to get no-cost groceries increased by more than 32% year to date. With pandemic-era assistance, like SNAP emergency allotments, ending this year, we know that the struggle to afford food will only continue for our Larimer County neighbors and those across the nation.
“Supporters, like KeyBank, are testament to the power that partnerships have to fight food insecurity in our community,” said Food Bank for Larimer County CEO Amy Pezzani. “These generous funds are helping us meet the needs of clients in an extremely challenging time.”
In 2023 alone, the Food Bank served more than 40,000 people and distributed enough food for more than 8 million meals. Thanks to community partner, like KeyBank, the Food Bank can continue to provide fresh and nutritious food to help Larimer County’s neighbors thrive.
