If you’ve got an early morning commute in Larimer County, it’s likely you’ve caught a glimpse of one of our Food Bank trucks.
They’re pretty hard to miss. Behind the wheel of the eggplant-colored box truck is a Food Rescue Route Driver. As the sun rises, they are inevitably on their way to one of our retail partners to pick up food surplus and bring it to one of our three locations for distribution.
Our fleet of five drivers is just one part of a larger team of more than 50 Food Bank staffers. Across three locations — two No Cost Markets and one warehouse — our employees show up every day with a shared passion to fight hunger in Larimer County.
Each employee plays an important role in the work we do, while also helping to tell the story about the variety of ways we show up to fight hunger.
You’ll find a staff member at the root of every made-from-scratch meal for seniors and children; behind every phone call about how to apply for SNAP; and leading our Nourishing Network to help more than 100 charitable partners get the food they need for their hunger-relief services. You’ll find our Fresh Food Share Market team welcoming shoppers and helping clients access the food that works best for their families, while our operations team is behind the scenes — driving forklifts, moving pallets and making sure millions of pounds of food get where they need to go. Our philanthropy and communications teams build relationships, share stories and connect our community to the people and work that make all of this possible. And our finance team makes sure we are good stewards of the resources entrusted to us, helping turn every dollar into the greatest possible impact for our community.
Our team is hard working, friendly, innovative, and determined to provide our community with nutritious food.
Throughout the month of August, you’ll get the chance to meet the staff members that make the Food Bank work. From our social media platforms to our newsletters, we’ll be introducing you to the people on our team.
By getting to know the faces of the Food Bank, we hope you’ll continue to feel inspired to work alongside us to fight hunger. Whether you’re part of our team of staff, volunteering, donating or sharing information about our services, when we are united to fight hunger, we can achieve so much more to ensure people in Larimer County are nourished.
