It’s thanks to our community that we’ve been able to successfully provide fresh and nutritious meals to kids through our Lunch Lab.
Here’s a snapshot of what we’ve accomplished together so far:
-Produced hundreds of daily meals to youth 18 and under
-Distributed lunches across 27 different sites in Larimer County
-During a time of high living costs, helped families save valuable dollars on food costs to put toward other basic living necessities
Achieving this is no small feat. Since our Lunch Lab first launched in late May, it has been incredibly inspiring to see the way our community has been involved.
Our dedicated donor base allows us to procure the food to create these nutritious meals. Meanwhile, volunteers are working hard making lunch from scratch in our Nutritious Kitchen and distributing them out with our Lunch Lab vehicles.
We recently chatted with one of our dedicated volunteers, DeAnn Hewett, about why she takes part in distributing summer meals.
As a retired registered dietitian, she emphasized how important these nutritious meals are.
“It’s critical,” she shared about the nutrition kids receive through the Lunch Lab.
As we continue our work this summer to ensure every kid has a nutritious lunch, we thank our community for working alongside us to make this possible.
When we work together, it’s amazing what we can achieve to fight hunger. To every person who has played a part, thank you for fueling the bright futures of kids in Larimer County.
